"Homeless Bound "
THE PHOTOGRAPHY
The first photograph was “At Marshall's .” It
was taken on State Street, in front of what was then Marshall Field's. There were always 10-12 passers-by, freely giving money. Everyone, including me, was awed at his absolute expression of dejection and helplessness. Yet, there was an intensity of his character - a human being with past dignity, a human being with a purpose and of accomplishment.
THE PROJECT
In April of 2004, I conceived the
project: to photograph people who we see to have no value.
My objective is to create "portraits"
of Chicago "Homeless" - to capture their souls, portray their spendor and restore their dignity.
Each photograph is a moment of an
individual's story.
