Projects

Introduction

Conceived in May of 2003, effective February 1, 2006 , I have launched an anthology project called “Musicians Through Chicago.”

Goals & Objectives

The project is to photograph world renowned, Metropolitan Chicago Area resident musicians.

It is my objective to bring to light, through an Anthology, the value of artists, the importance of Chicago as an art / musical center, and the significant contributions that Chicago Clubs and owners/managers and institutions have made and continue to make to public awareness and definition of music. All photographs are taken live, photojournalistic style, during performances, with artists' permissions.

The Tile Project

I have expanded this goal, to transfer images from these photographs and create high quality, 1 meter square industrial porcelain ceramic tiles.

I am seeking municipality, corporate and private collector support via contribution and financial funding through the purchase of these tiles, in order to bring this project to fruition, with the following goal & objectives in mind:

  • promote the arts in general, promote artists and the jazz/blues music genre
  • nationally/internationally promote Chicago as “Home of the Blues”

This would be done by prominently displaying these tiles in the following manner:

  • display 100+ tiles throughout the city of Chicago , in public view
  • tiles would be displayed on the outside of buildings or in lobbies
  • tiles to be easily accessible and prominently visible to the general public for viewing and awareness
  • each tile would carry with it a prominent plaque, stating the source of support and funding for the tile. For example: “This tile made possible and funded by Allstate Insurance Company.”
  • signed by the photographer, each tile will sell for $10,500
  • signed by the photographer & artist, each tile will sell for $18,500
  • each artist will receive a remuneration from each of his tile images sold from this series

I ask for your support for this project through your purchase of a tile. Thank you for your consideration. Your funding is crucial and necessary to make this project possible.
